2008-01-31
I am not going to be able to get February's 4cast up for awhile, maybe 3-4 days, maybe more maybe less. Sorry about that delay. You can always go to www.gulffishing.com for the 4cast.
Thanks for the continued support of my website.

Listen Now button.
2007-12-12
Remember me saying awhile back on my post Little Changes, about the Odiogo button? Well I finally got it up and running. I explained what it does clearly on my post, Little Changes, but I will just briefly refresh your memory.
Pretty much it is a text-to-speech widget. Just press Listen Now, and it should start playing. It will go through the intro, then it will literally read the post to you. I felt like installing this because it looked cool. Also I have been posting some long articles and thought it would be handy if you wanted it to read to you while you read along with it. And like I said on my previous post, you can download it as a mp3 to 'take along' with you on your Ipod or mp3 player. Read Little Changes on how to do that.
If and when you press the Listen Now and says 'Sorry, this article is not available yet' then do fret it will be up to date soon. Check back within the hour.
Also I will be making one more change by the time Christmas comes, or a little bit after. And what I am going to do is make a Read More button. What I mean by this is than you will only see a summary on the front page, and you'll have to click the Read More.. button to read the rest of the post. I wanted to add this so it doesn't look so messy on the front page. And as always Amanda and BloggerBuster will be helping me on this. She is so helpful.. See her for any help on web design or widgets.

Little Changes
2007-11-20
I have made a couple little changes to my MP3 player if you haven't noticed. 1; I changed the color of the skin. 2; I made it so it doesn't autostart. (I'll tell you why in a minute) 3; It is on random so you aren't listening to the same song in the same order. I am still taking any suggestions for new songs. Email me if you want, or you can leave me a comment.
I made the MP3 player stop auto starting for 2 main reasons. 1; It got annoying listening to the same song again when ever I reloaded the page. 2; Because I am going to be adding a Text-To-speech widget. What this does is it reads you my posts. Rather than you reading it for yourself. To start it just push the play button. It will go through "This podcast is brought to you by ......."
And another cool thing about this widget is that you can download it to your mp3 player for free. So say you liked one of my articles and you wanted to put it on your Ipod, then just click MP3 under the trackbar. And it will let you download it. I think that is very cool.
Please leave me your comments and concerns. Thanks!

I'm Back!
2007-11-19
Hello all,
I am back! I forgot to post that I was going to be gone for a whole week. I went up to Washington, D.C. So I will be back posting. As you could guess I can't update the 4cast as I didn't do any fishing. But will update that on Thursday! I will be posting a couple "chapter posts". What I mean by this is that I will post on the following topics: Fish (what they like to eat, tips, etc.) Helpful Tips (Better tips than usual :-) And one other topic. And each of these topic's will have up to 5-10 (maybe more) So that will be fun to read.
I am tired, since it is 10:45 as I type. So I am going to hit the hay, and start a couple of the "Chapter posts" tomorrow.
Thanks for continuing to visit my site as I love new and old visitors,
Alex
P.S: I have updated the fish and tip of the week. So you can't say I totally worthless tonight.

Tip and update
2007-11-01
As usual here is another tip, I have gathered from experience. Hope it helps!
Somewhere between fall and winter, when chilling fronts begin to move south, most of the baitfish leave the bays for deeper waters of the Gulf. In that change of locale, inshore predators switch from fish to crustaceans. Live shrimp and artificial shrimp like those from D.O.A. and Berkley Gulp become the mainstay in inshore diets. Glass minnows remain, but are difficult to put on a hook or keep alive, however the MirrOminnow by MirrOlure and fly pattern imitations like the Carl Hanson Glass Minnow give an alternative for hungry backwater snook. The switch from fish to crustaceans is eminent. For a more aggressive fall/winter catch, try shrimp. You’ll be surprised in the action, and you may find that you just catch more fish.
And for my fishing 4'casts (Well's Daily forecast):
I am sorry I am going to be a little late on posting them, as I am going to just start making them tonight. So this is why I suggest you go to gulf fishing and get a subscription.
Thanks for visiting fishing4idiots!

A few extra tips
2007-10-22
Sorry I have not been posting as much the last past week. But this weekend I am going to go fishing. Because the full moon is on the way and is almost here! So that means good fishing! If you want to check what times then visit the 4cast's section I made for you. So here are a couple tips;
• When you get a loop in your reel, then do the following procedure:
1: Open the hatch and put it down and then continusally pull the line out into the water so you won't get a knot in the line. Do this until the loop comes out of the reel.
2: Pick up the rod and close the hatch and put a slight tension on the line with 2 fingers and then slowly reel in. And there you go, no more loop ☺
• When you get snagged (caught) on a rock then hold the reel so no line can get through and then pull straight out (Horizontally). You might loose your hooks if you get snagged on a rock.
• As I have said so many times, rinse off everything you used in freshwater that you used while saltwater fishing. This will keep your hooks from rusting, and will keep your reel lasting longer.
• Store your poles in a dark place. This is because sunlight causes the most damage to fishing line. So if you keep your fishing pole in a dark place you should not ever have to change line for line being able to break easily.
Hope those tips helped you. Don't forget do my monthly poll (Left hand side task bar, half way down)
Thanks!

Tips, and update(s)
2007-10-15
Structure, structure, structure is where you want to fish. So man-made structure or natural structure is where you want to fish . This is because fish like to stay by structure for a couple reasons;
1. There is coral and crustaceans, which means bait fish which means big fish.
2. It blocks them from the current. So they don't have to exert as much energy to stay put.
3. Fish can hide from predators.
So if you are by structure then cast about 2 feet from it, and I promise you the best.
Another tip is as follows;
It can be helpful if you plan the night ahead for your fishing trip, be it inshore fishing or offshore. And what I mean by planning ahead is to get to know tomorrow's tide tables, and information. Also rig all your poles for whatever lures, spoons, or hooks you will use. I would recommend doing this because when your out there fishing and nothing is biting on a certain bait or rig, just the simple switch of poles can be a life-saver. So get planning for your big fishing trip the night before!
(2 more things, I am currently working on a domain name fishingidiots.com (fishing4idiots.com was already taken) and should switch over within a week or 2, and don't worry you will be redirected.
And number 2, like I asked before if you fish in the Dunedin-Clearwater area and would like to share your good fishing spot, we are taking any ideas. Either email me or leave a comment. -Thanks-)

Resources
2007-10-12
If you haven't already noticed the resources on the left hand side task bar right under "link to me" then you might want to check it out. I have included some websites that include helpful info on the following topics: Rods, reels, rigs, baiting, and more. And again this is located on the left hand side task bar right under "link to me." If you have any further questions, comments or just want to talk then either leave a comment or email me.
Thanks!
